Guys please: Is he trying to make me jealous, or does he really not care?

I'd say he likes you but he's just shy or nervous or whatever. He's probably just more comfortable talking to the other girl since he's already friends with her. I'm not shy so I never had that kind of problem approaching my girlfriend, but I know a lot of guys who are like that.
