My game disc is only slightly scratched but keeps saying the disc could not be read!?

A small child put my zelda disc on the floor and I didn't know so it stayed there probably a week..... My POINT is, the scratches are really not bad. Is there anything i can do to save the disc? All i've tried is windex.... any suggestions???
