What does it look like when you put ammonia on your screen?

One of my friend use some kind of Windex and I believe it has ammonia in it. He wipes it in his laptop monitor. Screens and monitors are made up of plastic and ammonia can kill plastics. I want to know what are the symptoms when you wipe you screen and monitors with ammonia? what does it look like? what color do you see?
