Cleaning the sticky mess on the wall from Fly Catchers?

Soap, elbow grease and a cloth is not helping remove it from the cupboards and wall after a fruit fly infestation. They aren't large marks but they are however rather ugly. Any suggestions? Preferably nothing expensive I don't have many cleaning products just bathroom ones, or common ones like Windex.
