Does isopropyl alcohol kill most germs?

I work for a racettrack on weekends and we do some pretty filthy things durning clean up after races.Mostly cleaning under the stands,picking up gross beer cans,trash,old food,etc.I use my ipod on the job while i clean.When i get home,i usually wipe the head phones and ipod down with bleach wipes.I recently ran out,so i used Windex.after reading Windex dosent really do that well in the cleaning germs department,i instead used some rubbing alcohol on a wash towel,and cleaned it well.My question is though,did it really even kill anything?
