My iPod touch power button?

My iPods power button just stopped working after I self-refurbished it. It's becoming a burden and itll automatically say "slide to power off" and when I press it nothing happens. The refurbishment was just me un-scuffing the back with windex. Please tell me how to fix this!!!!!!
